Within me there is such a place where the greatest of my aspirations reside. A place where my "hollow dreams" continue to flourish with nourishing hopes of hope. A place where the deepest of my emotions are felt and where the delight of my memories are kept warm and secure. Within this place is another... a place where I keep only the most special of things that surround this small world of mine and where they come to stay... Trust, Respect, and amongst many others the most important and dearest of them all... Loyalty.
I find a certain thought inescapable as I contemplate such matters. Throughout time, I have found that a majority of us have become weak. I see that a lot of us don’t want to accommodate others. What I’m talking about is blatant arrogance, ignorance, selfishness, or a combination of all three. Perhaps, as with many, relationships with friends and family have suffered due to people being scared of taking a chance. Thoughts of suffering the pain once more surround our daily routines and maybe we will get hurt again, but we will never know because taking a chance is something that needs mental and physical power. I have taken many chances and have failed so many times in life, but I have found that I am a fighter and have gained the courage to always get back up for the next fight. Whatever it maybe, physical or mental, this should give us the assurance that we will succeed in life no matter what falls along the path that has been set before us by the Almighty Himself.
I try to learn as much as possible with every passing day. Sometimes I succeed, but most of the time I fail. I guess nobody’s perfect. However, amongst my great and many failures, I have found that it’s hard to spend time with your own thoughts and maybe that’s why we gather ourselves around so many people, so less thoughts of our problems and issues will be floating in our minds... Rather, after many years, I've come to understand that the essence of success lays in the realization of the contrary. I am reminded of a quote attributed to a scholar commonly referred to as the "Scholar of the Heart" stating: "The one with a dead heart will make you feel lonely. So, take advantage of their absence as much as possible, because you will not feel lonely except when they are with you. If you are put to trial with them, give them your outer attention, wander from them with your heart, separate your inner self from them, and do not let them distract you from what is more deserving of your attention."
I believe we should all train ourselves to execute and problem solve all that needs to be, so our hearts will stay open for those who deserve it the most and for great achievements. We need to be Loyal not only to others, but also to ourselves, and we should always move forward with purpose and remain as fighters who do not run and abandon those who care about us and us for them at the first sign of a problem.
Abu Nu’aym narrates in Al-Hilyah that Mu’adh bin Jabal Said:
“Knowledge is a comforting friend in times of loneliness, it is the best companion during travels, and it is the inner friend who speaks to you in your privacy. Knowledge is the discerning proof of what is right and what is wrong, and it is the positive force that will help you surmount the trials of comfort, as well as those of hardships. Knowledge is your most powerful sword against your enemy, and finally, it is your most dignifying raiment in the company of your close companions. Through knowledge, Allah, blessed be His Name, raises some people in rank, and He makes them leaders in righteousness and models in morality. The vestige of their faith is avidly sought, their deeds are emulated perceptively, and people will seek and sanction their opinions solicitously and unequivocally. The heavenly angels seek their company and anoint them with their wings, every fresh or withered life they pass by implore Almighty Allah to forgive them their sins, even the fish in the oceans, the beasts of the lands and every bird of prey and migratory bird pray and solicit the mercy of Almighty Allah on their behalf. This is because knowledge revives the dead hearts and drives them out of darkness into light, and because knowledge is the light of the inner eyes that cures one’s blindness and restores his inner sight”
